Our Life Studies Blog!
Welcome to our Life Studies Blog! This is the place where you can come to see and listen to what is happening in Kindergarten in regards to science! We have a wonderful 4 Winds science education program that is run and lead by parents. In Kindergarten we also do a lot of outside discovery within the natural world. Young children are curious and great observers. We spend lots of time in the natural world looking for patterns, similarities and connections.

Look What Happens When We Throw Hot Water Into The Cold Air!
On Friday, Ms. Rachel took the children outside for a quick experiment with warm water. She threw the water into the freezing cold air and the water turned to snow! The children created their own scientific observations about what they think might of happened and why.

Forest Life!
We are exploring the forest life in Vermont. We are looking at the types of trees, life cycle of a tree, forest life and sustainability. These are the trees we created. We choose which scientific words we wanted to label our drawings with. These can also be found on Smithsonian at ePals. We earn a special Smithsonian star every time we share something we created about the natural world.

Science Journals
Today we each received our very own science journal! Two of the children went to garden club and brought back some "Hops". The children shared what they learned about this plant with us. Then we all used pencils and colored pencils to create a scientific drawing of the Hops. We talked a lot about how scientists draw, label, and date their thinking when using a journal. Wonderful journal work!
