Welcome to our Life Studies Blog! This is the place where you can come to see and listen to what is happening in Kindergarten in regards to science! We have a wonderful 4 Winds science education program that is run and lead by parents. In Kindergarten we also do a lot of outside discovery within the natural world. Young children are curious and great observers. We spend lots of time in the natural world looking for patterns, similarities and connections.

Snowflakes!
This month we are learning about snowflakes! One of the main ideas we will be focusing on is that water can take many forms. The children will be thinking of different forms as well as conducting some experiments that help us to understand how water can change it's form.
Unit Ideas/Concepts:
1. Fallen snow is a collection of crystals stacked with air spaces between them.
2.Snowflakes consist of 1 or more snow crystals that join together to form a snowflake.
3..Snow crystals are part of the group of crystals that are 6 sided. This shape is called a hexagon.
4. Snowflakes have neat designs.
