This afternoon we had our first visit from 4 Winds! We learned a lot about all the adaptations that different insects can do. Wow! The puppet show was wonderful. We learned so much from the Queen and her insect friends. Enjoy!
Welcome to our Life Studies Blog! This is the place where you can come to see and listen to what is happening in Kindergarten in regards to science! We have a wonderful 4 Winds science education program that is run and lead by parents. In Kindergarten we also do a lot of outside discovery within the natural world. Young children are curious and great observers. We spend lots of time in the natural world looking for patterns, similarities and connections.

Insect Investigations Live!
This afternoon we had an opportunity to examine the many insects we found on a white sheet. They were easy to see and observe.
We also had an opportunity to explore the garden and look for insects. After we found insects we tried to identify them.
Later we were able to watch a bumblebee! We were able to see all of his body parts and we even noticed that the bee had pollen on 2 of his legs!

Insect Investigations! An Outreach Opportunity From The Audubon
The Audubon visited Kindergarten last week and led us through a variety of hands on activities and explorations about insects. We walked through the ABS garden, through the grass, looking under trees and even up in the sky looking for insects. We found many and were even able to identify some.
