Welcome to our Life Studies Blog! This is the place where you can come to see and listen to what is happening in Kindergarten in regards to science! We have a wonderful 4 Winds science education program that is run and lead by parents. In Kindergarten we also do a lot of outside discovery within the natural world. Young children are curious and great observers. We spend lots of time in the natural world looking for patterns, similarities and connections.

Beaver Fun!
This afternoon we enjoyed a puppet show that gave us some information about the beaver. We learned about some of their special physical features and who preys on the beaver!
After the puppet show we had an opportunity to be a beaver! The children were able to be a beaver and travel through their lodge and then get a stick to chew on as a special treat!
Eating our "sticks" with our sharp front teeth!

Scientific Drawings
The children have worked very hard creating their own scientific drawing of a honeybee. We think scientifically when we draw detailed pictures showing characteristics of something alive. Some of us even tried labeling special parts of our honeybees.
A Slideshow of Discoveries!
We had our first 4 Winds program on Insect Adaptations. It was wonderful! The children learned lots of new vocabulary, had opportunities to look for insects in a garden habitat and then had a special "mosquito" drink!
